...and you get perhaps a dozen people in there.  You do /nickserv listlinks
for each of them.  You then have the different nicks that these people use,
which they are not using at the moment.  Exactly how useful is that?

Besides, if you don't like it then switch it off on your network (if it
ever gets implemented).
