Nickolas, As jay pointed out, you need to be root user to install services in that path. I would suggest installing services in your home directory. Something like this would work: <homepath, sometimes, /home/username>/ircservices And, for the next question, <homepath, sometimes, /home/username>/ircservices/lib On a related note, if your lucky, the home path can be replaced by a ~.
