Chapter 6: Applied Physics -------------------------- Ciara brought the West Wind close enough to the Giant that Sabin was able to get to its shoulder. He picked up Cecil and carried him into it through the hole in the neck. Having done that, she then turned her attentions to finding a way to land the West Wind securely and then joining her companions. The original idea had been to land on the head, but she figured that if any other airships saw it, they would probably blast it. "It's a shame I can't just send it back to Narshe..." she thought out loud. "Or can I? Let's see, if I take the air currents into account, the terminal velocity and deceleration, the power output..." She switched the airship to hover mode, sat down, pulled a pencil and pad out of her pack, and began to do the calculations, completely ignoring the fact that there was a giant robot of destruction nearby. A short while later, she finished. She flew the West Wind back over to the shoulder of the Giant, near the hole, and got ready. A sudden gust of wind blew her hair into her face, blocking her sight. "I should do something about that," she muttered absent-mindedly. She untied her headband, set it down, and pulled her hair back and braided it. She then got the airship into position again. She turned the engine off and sent it coasting back towards Narshe. Then, she took a grappling hook, latched it into the hole, and swung over. "Why do I have the feeling that I forgot something?" she murmured as she entered the Giant. The stones on the headband, which was still on the deck of the West Wind, glowed briefly. ***** She found Sabin helping a still groggy-looking Cecil up. "So you landed safely?" Sabin asked her. "Yep." She nodded proudly. "I sent it back to Narshe." "How are we going to get out of here, then?" he questioned. "Oh, oops..." Ciara blushed a deep crimson. "I guess I didn't take that into account." "It's okay. There's a passage out from behind where the CPU was," Cecil stated. "Besides, I don't think we're the only ones who are going to come in here and try to stop this thing. We'll be able to make it out, don't worry." They descended the lift to the giant's chest. As they walked through the corridors, Ciara began to get very nervous, and worried thoughts started to run through her head. Her thoughts were cut short by Sabin's question. "Who do you think brought this here?" They rounded a corner and came face-to-face with Imperial troops. "I think we just found out..." began Cecil.
