Edge plopped down on the bed once more. "Control, Edge, control. You just can't go out there swinging like a madman. You need a plan. Ninja always have a plan." Edge entered the Lotus position and began his breathing exercises. "Now, what is my best chance of victory here? What advantages does Celes have over me? ... I can only think of one... her magic. That is where I must strike first." Edge awoke from his trance, feeling somewhat refreshed. Looking at the chronometer, he gathered that he had been out for a good hour. "And now, Celes, the beginning of your end." Silently, Edge creeped out of the sleeping quarters and took a quick survey of the Control Room. Everyone was still stationed at their posts. "This might be more difficult than I thought." Edge began his approach. Slowly, s-l-o-w-l-y, Edge slid across the deck of the Big Whale. "Think invisible, and they will not see you," Edge told himself. Edge dove, then tumbled across the deck between FuSoYa and Rosa. Almost as quickly, Edge sprung for cover behind one of the consoles. Rosa looked over her shoulder, shrugged, and returned her attention to her console. "Heh, not bad, old-timer." Edge smirked to himself. Without warning, Rydia walked over to inspect the console which Edge had hidden himself behind. A trickle of sweat fell down Edge's face. "Hoo boy, gotta love a challenge. I need a distraction..." Edge withdrew a shiny coin from his pouch, and peeked out from around the console. "Ah, yes! That should get her attention." Edge took aim, and flung the coin at the console opposite himself. The coin struck a large button, and the cabin filled with the sound of an alarm. "Rydia!" Celes shouted, "Check your post!" Blushing, Rydia scurried back to her own console. "Sorry, Celes." Grinning, Edge focused his attention on Celes's pouch, and what it contained. The shard of Orb that granted her magic. Edge cracked his knuckles. "Now, let's see if I still have it." Swifter than the eye could follow, Edge brushed past Celes's distracted form. When her reached the other side of the cabin, Edge checked his hands. Clutched within was Celes's Orb shard. "Yes!" Edge silently congratulated himself. The sirens stopped. Rydia had gotten whatever had caused them back under control. "Just be careful next time, Rydia." Celes smiled, and put a reassuring hand on Rydia's shoulder. Celes then returned to her own station. "Don't worry, Celes. It won't happen again." Rydia wiped the sweat off her brow. "I can't let myself get distracted so easily," she thought. "Everyone's counting on me to do my job." Everyone's attention diverted back to their stations, it took little effort for the stealthy Ninja to return to his quarters. "Now, we play the waiting game." Edge curled up in his bed. It was then that he heard someone approach. Quickly, Edge pocketed the newly-obtained shard of Orb, and decided to surprise the interloper.
