Prologue: Birth of a Legend Seven years ago... "You screwed up again!" a man yelled. "But Dad..." a boy said. "Do you realize what you did? You were supposed to go get an elixir for your sick sister but instead you go off for a stupid relic. Your sister is now dead because of you!" the man yelled. "Dad, I'm sorry. I didn't know she was that sick." "This is the last time I let your adventurous attitude mess things up." The man walked to his desk. "You are no longer my son." "DAD!" "Get out." "Dad. please" "GET OUT!" As the boy walked out he heard his father say, "I will have revenge on this town for my daughter's death." * * * The thirteen-year-old boy moved into a small shack on the outskirts of town. It belonged to a sailor who let him stay there. The sailor was like his dad. He taught him many things, including on how to sail a ship. A few years had passed, and Miguel, the boy, began hanging out at the cafe more and more. One day, a very pretty teenager began working at the cafe. Miguel was captured by her beauty. Her name was Natasha. She was very beautiful and she knew it. Miguel also was very handsome, but he paid no mind. He was too worried about his next big adventure. They would flirt a lot, but it never amounted to anything. Nevertheless, they had a good friendship. * * * Five years after being kicked out of his house, Miguel found the greatest treasure of all. "The Tintinabar?" Miguel asked. "Yes. I know where it is. But I need help," an old man said. "Where?" "It's in Mt. Kolts." "Let's do it." "I'll meet you here in the morning." "Alright then." Miguel answered and was on his way back to his shack. He thought he'd be famous for this. * * * They met like they said and were on their way. It was early in the morning and they had little trouble getting to Mt. Kolts. Since it was morning, most of the creatures were still in their holes or wherever. Miguel did have to help the old man up some walls, but nothing he couldn't handle. They finally got to a cliff. Then they saw it. "There it is." Miguel said. Then it happened. Five birdlike creatures attacked. Miguel ran to the Tintinabar and put it in his pocket. He looked over at the old man and saw three of the creatures flying right at him. Miguel yelled, but it was too late. The old man fell off the cliff. Then the creatures came for him. He quickly ran back into the caves and down to the bottom. He thought of the old man, what he meant. He then saw his wounds healing. It appeared the myth was indead true. He left Mt. Kolts and started back towards town. He saw old wounds now healing. "This thing must be wourth 15,000, no, 25,000 GPs!" he thought aloud. 'I'll be famous,' he thought. 'Now maybe Natasha will go out with me,' he joked to himself. When he neared the city, he saw two battleships in the harbor. "No," he gasped. He reached town and his fears were comfirmed. Imperial troops were invading the town from the east. He saw his shack completely burned to the ground and all of his treasures were no doubt stolen. He saw many of the troops near his father's house. He went there. "Halt. Who are you?" a trooper asked. "He's my son," a man said out of the window on the second floor. The trooper said, "Go inside." Then he noticed something in Miguel's pocket. "Wait." he said. He reached into Miguel's pocket and took out the Tintinabar. "This'll be a great gift for Gastahl." Miguel was ready to thrash him, but three troopers in Magitek Armor were approching. He decided to let it go. He reached his father's room. Miguel hadn't seen his father in years, but he hadn't changed a bit. "Son, it's my fault." Miguel was suprised to hear his father call him "son". "What is?" Miguel asked. "The Empire invading. I sold out. I didn't even need the money and I helped them invade." "Why?!" Miguel couldn't help yelling. "Is this your revenge?" "Son, you have to get out of this town." "I can't do that, Dad. My life is here." "Son, come live back with us. That was a long time ago." "No, Dad, I have a life and it does not concern you or this house." "I understand." * * * Some time not too long afterwards, the troops pulled out. He heard the Returners got Gestahl to remove the troops. He also heard that Gestahl gave them the Tintinabar. Miguel worked up some money and then... the end of the world happened. After the Returners restored the world, Miguel decided to go looking for that famous relic that was so valuable... the Tintinabar.
