Chapter 14: Reawakening ----------------------- Shadows of light danced before his eyes as Tucker struggled to get up. He yawned and a searing pain shot through his head. He shook the pain away and shakily stood up. "Where... am I?" asked Tucker. He looked up. He tried to think back. And could not. He remembered... very little. He remembered a green-haired girl, who was a... caller? And a ninja! And a knight... Ce... see... Seestill? No... that wasn't it! Why couldn't he remember? A battle... some battle. The beast. It had struck him. Again. And again. And again. Tucker shook the cobwebs out of his head. His throat was parched and dry and his head ached like the fires burning in hell. Walking slowly, he felt his back rub against his flesh, gnawing away. His ribs were definitely cracked and he was having a difficult time breathing. He limped towawrds... a direction. He was unsure of where he was. He brought his visor down upon his eyes and tried to get a fix on his location. "Damn!" he cried. He plucked the visor off his head and stuffed in to his sack. The LCD display had been cracked. The only use for them now were as sunglasses. He continued his hike, looking for any sign of civilization. He thought back, trying desperatly to grab a strand of his recent past. He remembered... a word. A arcane word of power which had brought him here. But who? His head ached and his back hurt too much to think. Soon, in the distance, he saw civilization. "This looks familiar..." he said to himself. After a few minutes of walking, he saw the town more clearly. "Ji... j... Jidoor?" he stuttered. He shook his head again. he could not remember why this place brought so much dread upon him. He sighed. Soon, he would reach a town, and soon he would reach a place to rest his shattered mind and body.
