Chapter 16: Time to Travel -------------------------- Tucker yawned sleepily as he woke up after a night of travel. He had tried to recall all that had happened and couldn't. Much had happened sice his return but nothing that made him recall what was going on. He did remember some guy named Edgar and someone named... liver somethingorother. His brain was a jumbled mesh of dough and he couldn't seem to knead any information out of it. He just wished there was something that could jog his memory. And then it happened. Off in the distance, Tucker heard a familiar howl. The hunt had begun once again. "Man! We have to stop meeting like this!" Tucker broke into a run and pulled out a small device from his bag. He checked it's power supply. It had been charging for the last day and was full. That meant he could successfully make one jump. He heard the rumble of landscape as the creature closed in on him. "Computer, set body slide to... to... WHEREEVER! Get me out of here!" The computer beeped a familiar beep and toned out, "Cooridinates set" There was a bright flash of light followed by three popping sounds and the warping of space, and Tucker was gone. * * * Miles away, a repeated flash with popping sounds occured. Tucker appeared from the air, but, forgetting to stop, slammed into a tombstone that was set up above the ground. The wind knocked out of him, Tucker fell to the ground, clutching his chest in pain. He looked up, stars in his eyes, and barely made out what the tombstone read. "Who the heck is Daryl?" asked Tucker to no one in particular. And blacked out from the pain.
