If its BSD, replace 'make' with 'gmake'.  The Makefiles in ircservices
are GNU Makefile-ish, so you'll need to use the GNU Make, not the BSD
make.

(I know that applies to FreeBSD, not sure about others but I'm 99.99% sure
 it applies there too.)
