is it possible to have proper 'invalid' messages for this services function?

It can be slightly confusing to have services chuck things like:

STATUS ? ? ERROR Syntax error
STATUS #chatspike Craig ERROR Nick not online

rather than the 'useful' messages (for example, a reminder of the syntax) which services normally gives out?
